Job Developer
Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Manager of Strategic Employer Partnership and Internship Programs, the Advance and Earn Job Developer will be responsible for cultivating and managing employer partnerships as young adults achieve and complete milestones in the Advance and Earn Program. Advance and Earn supports opportunity youth 17-24 in four program components including contextualized academic programming at the Pre-HSE level, comprehensive High School Equivalency and work-based learning, and sector-focused advanced training in Digital Marketing and Construction.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a range of employment and advanced training opportunities that promote growth in a diverse range of industries, using labor market trends to inform partner cultivation.
- Assist in the monitoring of in-person and remote internship sites, to promote the development of career opportunities within established partnerships.
- Attend and escort participants to internal and external employer partner events such as but not limited to job/career fairs, hiring events, college fairs, workforce-related info sessions, funder events, etc.
- Design, implement, and facilitate workshops on topics related to career pathways and transition to employment.
- Facilitate 1:1 meetings with participants and upload corresponding documentation and case notes into all appropriate platforms.
- Work collaboratively with the program and employment team to ensure the completion of work readiness portfolios.
- Lead the development of tracking systems to ensure retention and prioritization of participants into positive post-program outcomes.
- Work effectively with internal teams and external partners to best prepare and support young adults as they enter the workforce.
- Identify and utilize strategies to determine internship and employer partner needs and incorporate these into program design.
- Cultivate existing relationships and build new relationships with varied stakeholders, including young adults, internship sites, employers, and community partners.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement workshops and instruction that are contextualized and provide a range of work-based learning opportunities.
- Assure achievement of all program milestones, benchmarks, and outcomes at required intervals.
- Monitor the flow and support movement of young adults throughout program components, and into outcome placement (i.e. employment, advanced training, post-secondary education)
- Collect appropriate documentation verifying successful outcome placement and enter into appropriate databases.
- Enter and track data in all relevant systems accurately and in a timely manner.
- Manage, delegate, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting, using excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Participate in internal training on Motivational Interviewing (MI) and employ MI strategies as a primary modality of practice.
- Additional tasks as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse range of participants with different obstacles to education and employment.
- Ability to establish positive relationships with program participants, internship sites, employers, and other community-based organizations.
- Ability to maintain internship and job bank consisting of quality positions.
- Ability to meet internship placement and job placement quotas consistently.
- Timeliness of data collection and entry into organization and funder databases
- Appropriate maintenance of case files
- Ability to effectively work as part of a team.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a high accountability, high support environment.
Education and Experience/Training:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- At least 2 years experience working in sales and business development.
- Experience working with workforce programs and supporting young people in career planning.
Salary Range: $50,000 - $55,000 inclusive of a robust benefits package and generous time-off allowances.
