The Job Developer will collaborate with the program team, engaging in successful recruitment and enrollment, as well as the development of quality programming that leads to placement in high demand industries, advanced training, and/or enrollment in higher education.  More specifically, the Job Developer will be responsible for the development of employer partners who will serve as internship sites, share job orders for graduates, or both.  Further, the job Developer is responsible for leading work readiness activities, preparing youth participants for interviews, and meeting all contractual expectations around internship supervision, paperwork collection, and data entry.  The Job Developer will also work with employer partners around the development of suitable job orders for graduates, prepare those graduates for application and interview, and capitalize on the employer partner relationship to secure retention documents for those graduates placed in employment with these partners.  Partnership development should home in on those growth sectors in which the agency is training its youth participants, across all contracts.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Develop employer partners with an eye toward growth sectors in which the agency is training and with partners who are inclined to provide both internship slots and job orders for program graduates.
  • Represent the program in key collaborative relationships, including with Department of Youth and Community Service, Department of Education, community partners, employers, and advanced training organizations.
  • Conduct site visits and all other contractual mandates related to internship placements and participation.  Complete associated data entry.
  • Prepare youth individually and in groups for the application and interview process for job orders development in collaboration with employer partners.
  • Support the planning and execution of hiring events with other similar roles across the organization.
  • Support a culture of professionalism designed to teach and cultivate a real-world working experience for the youth and young adults served. 
  • Assist in identifying and developing services and programs not currently being offered. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • A passionate commitment to OBT’s mission and vision.
  • A track record tied to exceptional success in preparing young people for entre into and persistence in, both subsidized and unsubsidized employment. Preference given to those applicants with a cadre of employer partners already committed to working with them.
  • The ability to establish strong working relationships with team members, colleagues, participants, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong skill set in data management and data tracking; demonstrated experience managing data collection, analysis, and reporting.

Education and Experience/Training
  • Substantial, related experience in similar roles required.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in work readiness preparation, employer partner development, and job placement services.
Compensation
  • $60-65,000 annual salary
