Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Plan, oversee, and support all aspects of OBT’s construction-related training programs, including the design and delivery of comprehensive job training and employment services that promote access to and persistence in post-secondary education and advanced training opportunities.
- Guide case managers and support staff on service planning and case management to ensure compliance with contractual requirements, achievement of service levels, outcomes, and key performance indicators, and overall program effectiveness.
- Collaborate with the Senior Program Director on administrative tasks, including but not limited to annual budget development; monitor spending with the agency’s fiscal partner; and guide the development and execution of budget modifications as needed.
- Oversee day-to-day program operations, including staff supervision, facilitation of team meetings, and management of program correspondence. Identify professional development needs for staff and self, and secure appropriate resources.
- Manage and strengthen partnerships with training providers (Kingsborough Community College and Soulful Synergy), ensuring alignment of curricula, schedules, and participant supports to advance career pathways and workforce development opportunities.
- Represent OBT and its programs in key collaborative relationships and partner conversations with government agencies, employers, unions, community partners, and advanced training organizations to advance career pathways, credit for prior learning, and workforce development opportunities.
- Track and analyze progress toward outcomes and funder obligations; design and implement action plans to address gaps; and ensure accurate, timely data entry across funder-mandated databases and the agency’s Salesforce system.
- Foster a culture of professionalism designed to provide youth and young adults with a real-world working experience.
- Assist in identifying and developing new services and programs; support the Chief Impact Officer and others in the grant writing process related to this program.
- Ensure a dignified, respectful space for both program staff and participants.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- A passionate commitment to OBT’s mission and vision.
- A track record in program leadership within the young adult workforce space with specific indicators of programsuccess in the delivery of services specific to this contract and working with young people to maintain engagement in positive outcomes for at least one-year post- program exit.
- Demonstrated experience developing programmatic systems to enhance program outcomes.
- The ability to establish strong working relationships with team members, colleagues, participants, and external stakeholders.
- The ability to work creatively, resourcefully, and collaboratively while exhibiting flexibility in achieving results.
- The ability to consistently develop and refine the program model and processes to create successful outcomes for participants and staff.
- Experience working on multiple projects and balancing competing priorities.
- Strong skill set in data management and data tracking; demonstrated experience managing data collection, analysis, and reporting.
Education and Experience/Training
- Bachelor’s degree required. A master’s degree or additional, substantial professional development in a related field preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in education, youth development, or community-based organizations with a minimum of 2 in a leadership role.
- Prior experience in the construction sector is preferred.
